But only Theo, and then he, too, would have emerged from the tower to find the world in ruin, loved ones lost... no, both the Source and the First benefited from his continued presence outside the tower.
He can't say that exactly, but he does take a moment to find something similar enough that doesn't give anything away.

If they understand duty enough to sacrifice themselves to it, doubtless they understood your duty was to the people who needed your help.
